Kong Fallen Hero: Forged Through Adversity

With Kong Fallen Hero, Richard Orlinski casts his gorilla as a battle-scarred hero. Clenched fists, a determined gaze, cracked armour: he bears the marks of adversity, yet remains standing.

The cape and chest emblem draw on the visual language of superheroes. The fractures running through his armour lend him a more human dimension: strength measured not only in power, but also in the ability to rise again. A figure of resilience in which we may each recognise something of our own story.

Finished in metallic grey and matte black, this 52 cm sculpture explores the contrast between the costume’s metallic accents and the understated silhouette. The details of the armour stand out in relief, giving the work a commanding presence.
