American Icons: American Culture Through the Eyes of Richard Orlinski

To mark the occasion of the Deauville American Film Festival, Galerie Orlinski Deauville is showcasing a selection of artworks inspired by the iconic imagery of the United States.

From cinema and superheroes to pop culture and street art, American icons have profoundly shaped our collective imagination. Richard Orlinski draws on these universal references and reinterprets them through his bestiary, vibrant colours and signature faceted lines.

Between Superheroes and Cinema

With Superkong and Captain Kong, the celebrated gorilla takes on the defining qualities of American heroes: strength, courage and self-improvement. Alongside them, the Red T-Rex, an iconic figure of adventure films, commands attention with its spectacular silhouette and vibrant colour.

The Energy of Street Art

The selection also places urban influences in the spotlight. Man Tag Matte, Jean Tag and Wild Kong Oil Tag Matte are covered in colours, symbols and lettering inspired by graffiti. These expressive artworks transform every surface into a canvas for creativity.
